The exhibition, conceived and curated by Virginia Monteverde and presented this year by art critic Viana Conti, is sponsored by the Liguria Region, the City of Genoa and the Embassy of the Netherlands. The Exhibition: The Biennale was born in 2013 with the aim of promoting and encouraging the artistic and cultural exchange between Italy and other European countries. This fourth edition, themed "Water and Light", sees the participation of 60 artists who live and work in Italy and the Netherlands. As in previous editions, which featured Finland, Hungary and Germany, the artists of the Netherlands have been selected thanks to the collaboration of Galleries and Foundations of both countries. The 2019 edition of the Biennale Le Latitudini dell'arte also, in alliance with the circuit of the Museums of Genoa, invites exhibition visitors to follow the itinerary “Netherlands and Flanders - The Latitudes of Art in Genoa of the Past" that winds through the Palace Royal, Musei di Strada Nuova, National Gallery of Palazzo Spinola and Trust (Prince's Villa).
